Pluto

When I was 11, I saw that Pluto was removed from the nine planets of the solar system and became a dwarf planet on TV. That night, I surprisingly heard some whispers, that told me that he was Pluto. That was the very first night I felt a strong connection between Pluto and me.

On account of my taciturn personality, I was unpopular in my class and a little self-abasement. As a teenage rebel, the only way that I figured out to be unique and get attention at that time was to dress as a boy, although I didn’t like to look masculine. Every night at that time, Pluto comforted me by saying “It’s ok” and how beautiful to be alone. He asked me to show my real personality to people like him. I also heard a lot of stories about him and Charon, which is the largest moon of Pluto, about how Charon helped him to accept the new status calmly and how funny he was extremely sedated when they were kicked out. After one month of talking with Pluto, I slowly became an easy-going girl, dressing in whatever I preferred as I was confident.

There are six looks by characters, namely Pluto, Charon, me before the talk, me in the transferring stage, me after the talk, and after all. In my design, I personalized Pluto and Charon. Their personalities are the most important thing that I wish to express. The characters are closely related as all of my garments can be simply connected by the magnet details I put on. Even though so many people around me thought that I must be crazy to hear a planet talking, I still believe that it happened. I’d like to tell this story and share my experience and thoughts through my collection.
